Starting a session at the table
Tap the play button in the middle of the tab bar and pick Cash or Tournament at the top of the form.
For a cash game you fill in four things: blinds, game type, location and buy-in. For a tournament there are six: name, game type, location, buy-in, starting stack, and a switch for bounty events. Tournaments also get a Scan clock button, which fills most of that in from a photo of the tournament board.
Cash games have no clock in the room, so there isn’thing to scan. The button only appears in tournament mode.
Once you start, the timer and the chip flow chart run on their own. You don’t have to keep the app open or keep the screen awake.
While you are playing
- Reload in a cash game, or Re-entry and Add-on in a tournament. A re-entry resets your stack to the starting amount, which is what makes the graph show the bust rather than a jump upwards.
- Chip count. Drag the slider to where your stack is and tap Record. Do it whenever you happen to look down. Every point you record is another point on the line.
- Notes. Tap the notes row and write whatever you want to remember. It stays with the session and is searchable later.
In a tournament the live screen has two pages. Swipe sideways between your chip flow and the clock.
Finishing
Cash games end with Cash Out and one number: what you walked away with. Tournaments end with Finish, which asks for prize, place and field size, plus bounty if it was a bounty event, and has a deal option for chops.
Logging a session that already happened
You don’t have to have used the app at the table. On the sessions screen there’s Add Past Session, which is the same form plus start and end times. Buy-in, cash-out, stakes, game and location and you’re done.
This is also how most people bring in the last few months by hand while they wait to import the rest.
