What you will see
If the board couldn’t be read you get a short message and the form is left exactly as it was. Nothing is cleared and nothing is filled in with a guess. Type it in and carry on.
If only part of the board could be read, that part is filled in and the rest is left blank.
Things worth trying
- Get the whole board in frame. There’s no crop step, so the photo you take is the photo that gets read. A little extra room around the edges is fine.
- Take it straight on if you can. Sharp angles and heavy glare are the usual culprits, the same as any photo of a screen.
- Try again rather than fight it. A second photo costs nothing and often lands.
- Check you’re online. Reading happens on our side, so it needs a connection. Everything else in the app works offline.
If the numbers came across wrong
Edit them. Every field the scan fills is an ordinary editable field, and once you change one the app keeps your value. The clock also has a manual sheet for level, blinds and time remaining if you would rather set it by hand.
If it keeps failing on one room's board
Clock displays vary a lot between rooms, and some are harder to read than others. If one particular board never works, tell us in Settings → Send Feedback and say which room it was. That’s genuinely useful to us, and it’s how the reading gets better. A photo by email to [email protected] is just as good.
